About Kate
Born in Australia, Kate Edwards had a nomadic childhood, living on several continents before the age of 8. Her exposure to vastly different cultures fuelled her desire to escape the feeling of being an outsider through storytelling and later, travel and adventure. She’s been a kibbutznik in Israel, a nanny in New York, a barmaid in London and a hitchhiker in Africa, before finding an outlet for her creativity in advertising, where she’s now Partner and Creative Director of Supercurious. After leaving behind a trail of unfinished scripts and manuscripts, she decided once she turned 50, that’s life’s too short – and wrote her first novel: Starstruck.
She currently lives in Canberra with her husband and two sons, but constantly dreams of living by the ocean, wearing floaty Camilla kaftans and writing novels as a full-time gig.
